About Us

Our Story

In late 1978, Richard M. Bradley, Jesse Woodward, Rose Osnes, Frank P. Goode, and Larry M. McCallister -- Trustees of the Church of God of West Virginia -- purchased around 266-acres where our campground currently is. Back then, the area was mostly known for being the home of the state's largest, and only sand-bottom pool, with a concession stand, and a small general store. The grounds also had only a few RV spots.

Then, in the 1980s, a Tabernacle was built, followed by the building of the rustic cabins, and with more spaces cleared out for RV campers. As the years went by, We've added over 50 RV spots, 8 tent camping spaces, Deluxe Cabins and have over a dozen rustic cabins.

The future of Rippling Waters includes efforts to update our electrical system to a more eco-friendly one, expansion of playgrounds for children to enjoy while their families visit us. We are working to provide our campers with more amenities while you're here!

Meet our team

The Rippling Waters Campground team is here to ensure you enjoy your stay. While there are only three official staff members all year round, during the season we have an amazing group of volunteers that serve as support staff.

Mark Jarrett

Campground Manager

Mark and his wife, Nena, came to Rippling Waters six years ago. He had been enjoying retirement from the Department of Correction after over 20 years. Mark is a passionate and dedicated man who believes in doing good and helping others. We are more than happy that he has brought his impeccable work and life ethics to the Rippling Waters Campground.

Kevin VanHart

Groundskeeper

Kevin retired after almost 20 years in the auto repair and diesel mechanic field. Kevin fell in love with Rippling Waters when he and his wife Sarah -- a traveling nurse -- came to our campground for an extended stay. Soon after his arrival, Kevin found himself helping Mark around the grounds, and eventually become our groundskeeper extraordinaire.

La Shawn Pagán

Public Relations, Special Projects, Social Media & Marketing manager

After decades of experience in the journalism field, we approached La Shawn to see if she could help us step into the future with our ambitious goals for the campground. We are so glad that she did! La Shawn has already proven to be a valuable member of our management team and we cannot wait to see what she’s preparing for our Campground!
